Next Weeks Open Classes

The Dance Class is pleased to announce two guest artists as well as your favourite TDC staff will be joining us for our open drop in classes. Junior classes are recommended for dancers aged 7-12 and inter/senior classes for dancers 13+ or by invitation. Previous dance experience is required! All classes are $12 per class or a 10 class card can be purchased for $100.

Jennifer Spafford 

TTP (Dip) – NBS, BFA Honours Dance, ISTD (Cecchetti & National), MRT RAD

As a graduate of the Teacher Training Program at Canada’s National Ballet School, Jennifer has had the privilege of training with some of the world’s leading professionals in dance, ballet and related fields. In addition to receiving a Diploma from NBS, Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in dance from York University. She holds teaching qualifications in National Dance through the Imperial Society of Teachers and Dancing, as well as an Associate standing with the Cecchetti Society of Canada. Jennifer has completed examinations for both Cecchetti and RAD majors and her teaching qualifications allow her to enter children into ballet examinations.

Jennifer has worked with a wide variety of age groups in professional, recreational and competitive programs in ballet and other forms of dance. She is proud to have been the head of the ballet department at The Dance Zone in Vaughan for the past 3 years, where her choreography for ballet competition elevated her students to a new level of technique and professionalism.

Jennifer is well travelled having taught dance throughout Ontario and as far as Singapore. She is proud to announce that her next adventure will be to Bermuda as the new Ballet Mistress at In Motion School of Dance.

Shauneese Morrison
Shauneese began her dance training at the age of 3 at the renowned Joanne Chapman School of Dance studio. She has over 20 years of extensive training in Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Hip Hop, Contemporary, and Acrobatics. Shauneese graduated from McMaster University where she obtained a Honours BA in Political Science. As a teacher, she holds a teaching certificate in Stage and Acro with The British Association of Teachers of Dancing and is a member of the Royal Academy of Dance.

Shauneese’s choreography continues to win numerous awards and overalls both regionally and nationally in a variety of dance genres. Many of her students have been submitted into prestigious dance programs and have gone on to pursue successful careers in dance.

Shauneese ensures her choreography and knowledge of dance is always at the forefront as she teaches and attends various workshops throughout North America. With her various roles in film and music videos, she is able to provide her students with valuable knowledge for those who have a passion to pursue dance both recreationally and professionally. Her goal as a teacher / choreographer is to create an environment that results in continuous growth, improvement and brings her students’ talents and abilities to new heights. She is excited to bring her dynamic personality to The Dance Class and looks forward to providing inspirational and exceptional training to her students.
