Recital Reminders 2017

 

*Show Dates:

Sunday, June 4th AND Monday, June 5th 6:00 pm

All classes are in both shows! 

Dancers must perform both nights, however parents do not need to buy tickets for both nights. Dancers in Act I may be dropped off at 5:15 pm and Act II dancers at 5:30 pm.

 

*Dress Rehearsal: 

Sunday June 4th   At The Milton Centre for the Arts Act I  9:00-11:30 am  and  Act II  12:00-3:00 pm

All dancers must attend in order to perform in the recital. 

Dancers performing in both Acts  of the show should pack a small snack for the break between rehearsals. All dancers and parents must leave the theatre during dinner break as the theatre will be closed. (2:30-5:00 pm)

 

All classes ages 5+ are in the show. Level I-IV. All dancers in Level I will be in the first act only. 

 

*Studio Show “Run Throughs” (these are mandatory practices for everyone involved):

Sunday, May 7th  Act I 12:00-2:00 pm, Finale 2:00-3:00 pm, Act II 3:00-5:00 pm

Sunday, May 28th Act I 12:00-2:00 pm, Finale 2:00-3:00 pm, Act II 3:00-5:00 pm

(Finale is a specially choreographed number for the END of the Show. More information to follow)

The list of classes involved in each Act will be released in February.

 

*Photo Day:   (This is the day that a professional photographer takes pictures of all classes in their Recital Costumes. (Please have proper tights and shoes for the pictures) 

 

All dancers must have hair up in high bun with light make up. 

 

*Costume Measurement Week:  (for all dancers in Recital)

December 5th-10th during regular class time. Please make every effort to be present for this.

-All costumes as order by January 1st. Any dancer who withdraws from classes after this date are required to pay the balance of the costume fees.

 

Recital FAQ

*Our tots ballet/tumble tots and pre-school ballet/jazz/acro dancers DO NOT participate in our Spring Recital at the Milton Centre for the Arts. They do however have an in-house performance on Saturday, June 9th. Schedule will be released soon.

*All classes in the Spring Recital will perform both nights and with the same routine. 

*Dancers are expected to wear their hair in a high bun with light make-up for the dress rehearsal and both shows. Ask at the desk if you have questions. Dancers will also need the proper tights and shoes as per The Dance Class dress code.

*Dancers must be signed in and out by a parent/guardian for all rehearsals, dress rehearsals and shows. Please be patient as sometimes this can be a time consuming process, however it is necessary to insure the safety of our dancers.

Photo Day 2017

Class and individual photos will be taken at The Dance Class on TBD by ‘Photography by Gary Roork.” Please confirm your child”s time on the detailed schedule attached to this email.
All students in our Tots and Pre-School classes are asked to wear their all pink uniform, preferably without a skirt of any kind. Dancers will be provided with a matching tutu and crown for their picture.
Recital costumes will only be sent home once account balances and costume balances have been paid in full.
All students are requested to be present for their class picture. Class pictures will be displayed at the studio and are a great memento of the season. After the group photo shoot, students will also have a single shot taken in their costume. There is no obligation to purchase these photos and you will be able to view the picture before you purchase. Please arrive 20 minutes before your child”s scheduled time, since the photo shoot may run ahead of schedule. Due to photographer availability, there will be no photography make-up dates, and we will be unable to accommodate latecomers.
Whenever possible, please arrive for your picture with your costume on (with a suitable cover-up to avoid damaging the costume) There will be limited changing space and parents will be unable to accompany their child past the front lobby.
Photos will be available for sale at the recital (before the show and at intermission.), and at the Pre-School/Tots ballet Open House. The cost is $15 per combo which includes a group and an individual shot. Only cash or cheques will be accepted. No credit cards or debit can be used for photo packages.
 
Photo Day Hair and Make-Up
For female students in the recital, we recommend light stage make-up: lipstick, blush, eye shadow (earth tones preferred), and mascara. For Pre-School and Tots ballet, a little lip gloss or lipstick is all you need!
For photo day ONLY you may wear your hair how you would like. It is suggested that all female students wear their hair up off their face and neck (high bun preferred).
Please make sure your son/daughter has the appropriate tights and shoes to wear with his or her costume. All tights are available at the desk.

TICKET SALES 

Tickets are now on sale for our annual Spring Recital- ‘ From Page to Stage ‘

All Dancers 5+ will be participating! (Tots and Pre-School ballet classes will not be participating)

Tickets are available through the Milton Center for the Arts website, the box office, in person or by calling 905-878-6000. Messages left at this number will be returned the same day. Note that there is limited staff in the box office so you will have better luck going online to purchase your tickets. There are no bad seats in the theatre. Even the back row will provide a great experience with an excellent view of the stage.

Notes:

There is a $1.50 per ticket charge for returns and exchanges. No refunds or exchanges will be processed on show day.
Everyone entering the theatre must have a ticket including babes in arms.
Dancers must enter through the lobby and will be signed into back-stage by the studio.

Costume invoices have been sent home over the past two weeks. If you have not received an invoice please email the studio and we will send it electronically.
